If you are resident outside the European Union, an international driving licence is required in addition to your driving licence.

A prerequisite for renting a car is that you must be at least 21 years old and have held your driving licence for at least one year. For certain categories of cars you must be at least 25 years old.

Reservations

Although we have many categories of cars in our fleet, we cannot guarantee a specific make, model or fuel type. The vehicle shown on the website and on your booking confirmation is indicative of the category and may be substituted with another similar car of the same category for which you have booked.
In the event of damage or accident, we will provide you with another car similar to the one you have rented, or if there is no availability, we will provide you with another one from the next next immediately available (unless the damage or accident is due to negligence or use of the vehicle contrary to applicable law, road traffic code or the terms of the rental agreement).

Driver

The minimum acceptable age is 21 years except for certain categories of cars (Large and/or luxury vehicles) in the car4city fleet. The driver must have a driving licence for at least 1 year.

Only the drivers listed in the lease contract are entitled to drive the car.

Additional drivers

Additional drivers can be added to the rental agreement. For each additional driver there is an additional charge of 5 EUR/day of rental.

Driving licence

A valid licence issued at least 1 year ago is required. Citizens of countries outside the European Union are required to have an international driving licence, together with the licence issued in their country of residence.

Deliveries - Receipts

Deliveries and collections are scheduled through the rental agreement.

For deliveries at the port of Rafina or Eleftherios Venizelos airport it is necessary to inform us of the name of the ship, the gate at which it arrives and where it comes from, and for Eleftherios Venizelos airport, the flight number and the time of arrival.

Deliveries and collections outside of car4city office hours have a charge of 30 euros

Hire not carried out

The vehicle will be reserved and available for you. In the event that you have not picked up one hour after the scheduled pick-up time, or in the event that the pick-up is scheduled at the airport one hour after the scheduled arrival of your flight (only if you have provided us with the flight number), car4city reserves the right to mark the reservation as "NOT HELD" and has no obligation to hold the vehicle in reservation or to refund any prepaid amount.

Car return

The rented vehicle must be returned during the opening hours of the car4city offices at the location indicated in the rental agreement.

Return of the car earlier

There is no refund of any amount of money if for any reason you return the car before the date and time stated in the rental agreement.

Late return

The daily rental prices are for a 24-hour period starting from the beginning of the rental period.Hcar4city allows the return of the car 30 minutes after the end of the agreed rental period at no extra charge. From 30 minutes to 60 minutes late, the charge will be 10 euros. If the car is returned after 60 minutes, you will be charged an extra day's fee.

Fines and administrative sanctions

Fines and administrative penalties resulting from a violation of the Code of Conduct during the rental period are the sole responsibility of the renter.

Loss or destruction of a key

In case of loss or destruction of the key during the rental period, the renter will have to pay an amount of 150 € - 350 € depending on the car category.

Fuel policy

The vehicle is returned on the agreed day and time and at the place indicated in the rental agreement.

The customer must return the car in the same amount of fuel as the car was received.

If the car is returned with less fuel, the charge is 10€, plus the cost of the fuel consumed.

Payment method

The renter has the option to present a valid credit or debit card in his/her name as a guarantee of the rental. The rental is paid in advance and is in any case paid upon delivery of the car to the renter.

Charges

The basic charge is for a period of one day (24 hours from the time you receive the car) and includes :

- Unlimited kilometres

- 24-hour roadside assistance

- Basic third party liability insurance

Deliveries - Pick-ups outside opening hours: Surcharge 30€

Cancellation of reservation

Cancellation of the reservation must be made at least 5 days before the scheduled start of the vehicle rental according to a reservation made in this booking engine. If you wish to cancel a reservation, the only acceptable method is via email to the car4city office.

In case of cancellation within the above time limit before the scheduled start of the vehicle rental, the full amount will be refunded to you.

In any other case the amount is non-refundable.

Changes to the reservation

If you wish to change your reservation at the time of car pick-up, for example to rent a larger vehicle or to change the return date of the car, you must change your reservation by email at least 24 hours before the scheduled car pick-up, in order to check availability for the place and time of the reservation.

Car insurance

Each car for rent includes third party liability insurance.

There is the possibility of mixed insurance with a charge of 10 € per day and a maximum liability amount of 400 €

The insurance does not cover damage

When the driver causes an accident under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

If the driver of the vehicle is not authorised as a driver in the rental contract.

If the renter does not take all necessary precautions to park and lock the car safely.

If the car is illegally parked.

Damage caused as a result of the vehicle being driven on a road that was not suitable.

Accident

In case of an accident, the lessee must immediately inform the company and the police and provide the police report of the incident to the return.

He/she must immediately call both the traffic police and the accident care service provided by the vehicle insurance cover and wait as long as necessary for them to arrive at the scene of the accident. In the event that the customer for any reason leaves the accident scene before the recording of the incident, taking photos, etc., thus demonstrating unconventional behaviour, the insurance cover automatically ceases to be valid and the customer is obliged to compensate car4city in full for any damage caused to the company's vehicle and to any third parties.

In the event of an accident at the fault of our customer, an additional 50€ will be charged for accident file management costs.

Personal Data Protection

Our company complies with the framework for the protection of natural persons against the processing of personal data set out by Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament. Personal data are information that identifies you, such as your name, email address, etc.

Our company does not collect your personal data unless you have explicitly provided them for a specific purpose and given your consent for their use. The company stores your personal data and uses them only if you have given your consent. The company reserves the right to disclose information about you if required by law or if such disclosure is necessary by competent government authorities, administrative bodies, or law enforcement agencies.
